About
Mexican born artist, Morgan Santander was brought up and educated in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Mexico. Santander undertook his undergraduate studies in the visual arts at the University of California, Berkeley, (B.A. 1991), where he was was a recipient of a University of California Regents Full Academic Achievement Scholarship. Santander completed his graduate work in painting and drawing at the University of Chicago (M.F.A. 1995). As a graduate student at the University of Chicago, Santander was awarded a Board of Trustees Achievement Fellowship Full Scholarship.
Morgan’s work can be seen in numerous corporate, private, and institutional collections in the U.S. and abroad.
Morgan Santander taught painting, drawing, art history, and art theory at all levels for over two decades. Santander’s teaching highlights include serving for twelve years as Professor of Graduate and Undergraduate Painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design (2001-2013). Twice while at SCAD he was awarded the SCAD Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.
